Cambridge English: Preliminary Exam (PET)
What is the PET?
An exam administered by Cambridge to all 6th graders in the Communidad de Madrid. Passing this exam demonstrates an understanding of the English language to or beyond B1 proficiency. A successful exam also means that a 6th grader will be able to continue in the bilingual education system.

About Me
My name is Kim Corey and I am employed by the Comunidad de Madrid as a Language Assistant for the 2017-2018 school year. I am working at a primary school (grades 1-6) called CEIP FELIPE II in El Escorial, about an hour bus ride north of Madrid. There, I work exclusively with the 6th grade English teachers. Mainly, I am helping to prepare the students for the Cambridge English: Preliminary Exam (PET). I came into the program completely unaware of this exam and the significance of it for Madrileno students. With this in mind and my experience thus far, I have dedicated the MOOC final project to PET and potential resources for both future auxiliares and students alike.
